The Life I've Always Wanted
The Witness I've Always Wanted
December 13th, 2015 - Pastor Jason Thomas
What does it mean to live as a witness for Christ? How do we best demonstrate, communicate and share our faith, in a world that doesn't want to hear it? I used to do street evangelism. It was excruciating. I don't know if it was bad, but just excruciating. And, maybe more memorably, ineffectual. Please tell me that our faith can be shared and LIVED in a way that truly is Good News. Special guest, Pastor Jason Thomas speaks.
On Raising Small Humans
December 6th, 2015 - Pastor Ron Hockley
This week, we talk kids. What in the world are people thinking having these things?? As we look at the life we've always wanted, we look at the life we want for them. How do we get that? More importantly, what is it?
November 22nd, 2015 - Pastor Ryan Saari
We continue to look at ourselves and say, "What happened?" Ok...maybe not exactly that. But that's what it's been feeling like. Each week, we look at an aspect of our life and ask, is this what I've always wanted? We continue this Sunday to look at our relationships. Those around us. What they say. How we handle it. And what it would look like if we actually listened.
Marriage: So this is it.
November 15th, 2015 - Pastor Bob Vander Meer
In this series, we've looked at lots of different things in our life, with one question in mind: Is this what I've always wanted? This Sunday: Marriage. Not just marriage, but all of our deep, intimate relationships. Is this what I've always wanted?
Intimacy With God in Just 20 Minutes a Day!
November 8th, 2015 - Pastor Ron Hockley
This week, we continue to talk about this idea of Intimacy With God. What does that even mean? How can one be intimate with One who simply says, "You can't really know me..." At least not fully. Maybe awe of God’s “otherness” is the very thing missing in our sentimental evangelical quest for warm fuzzy feelings when it comes to God. Maybe our search for them can be a bit like Aaron’s golden calf – an idolatrous attempt at intimacy when intimacy isn’t what the doctor ordered. Or at least it’s only half.
November 1st, 2015 - Pastor Ryan Saari
Let's get Spiritual up in here. This week! We talk God and stuff. What does it look like to have the Spiritual life you've always wanted? What even is a "spiritual life"?
October 18th, 2015 - Pastor Ryan Saari
This Sunday, we continue our Series, talking about Knowledge. Am I really as smart as I've always wanted to be?
October 11th, 2015 - Pastor Bob Vander Meer
This Sunday we follow up with our chat from last week on...relationships. "Truth is, everybody is going to hurt you; you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for." - Bob Marley
The Friend I've Always Wanted
October 4th, 2015 - Pastor Ryan Saari
What have you always wanted in a friend? When you think about a Community that you've always dreamed about, what does it look like? This week, we are going to look at our relationships, our friendships and connections, and we're going to see if we can make music together.
I Thought I'd Be Richer
September 20th, 2015 - Pastor Bob Vander Meer
This Sunday, we continue The Life I've Always Wanted. Each week, we're going to look at a specific area of our lives and see how we're doing. Are we happy? Is it what we've always wanted?
But Right Now I Kind of Suck
September 13th, 2015 - Pastor Ryan Saari
This week, "The War of Art". Together, we're going to look at different areas of our lives, and discover what we really want. Who do we want to be? What do we want to be doing? And...can we actually get there?
Listen to the sounds of a whole 'nother O, The Oregon Community! Join Pastors Ryan Saari, Ron Hockley, Bob Vander Meer and special guests as they pontificate on love, life, and the Bible. From Acts to Zion, the word of God is spoken into our ear-holes and absorbed into our eternal-souls. Join us, who knows, you may learn something!
Together, we're going to go through the life of Jesus. His teachings, and his death and resurrection. Discovering all along the way what this Gospel is. At every step, every stage, it's God flipping civilization on it's head. Reconstructing, not only the questions, but most definitely, the answers.
Holidays, guest speakers and special sermons. Here you will find them all.
This week we kick off our New Series! Together, we'll be spending the Fall going through the Book of Ephesians. We're calling it "Your Church is Too Small".I can't wait for us to dive into this book that is about, among many things, what "the Church" is. Or, maybe more importantly, WHO the Church is. Looking forward to what we discover together.
Throughout this series, we're going to be looking at various ideas, relationships, practices and theories and simply ask, "Is this outdated?" Have we been banging our heads against the wall, trying to break through. Trying to understand. Trying to grow. But in reality, we're approaching the whole thing wrong. It's antiquated. It's outdated.
Our new series is called Words and Stories. We will be looking at, you guessed it, words and stories that Jesus told. Some are the ones we gloss over because they don't make any sense, others we gloss over because we've heard them again and again. But there's more. There's always more.
This isn't going to be another "Put your best foot forward" kind of series. This is going to be a battle, a war. The choice to follow the Spirit, to be lead by our muse. Engage in the power and beauty of this life, or be conquered by it, and just be another epitaph: born this day, died this day. I'm excited to win this war, together. Come join us...
Together we're going to study each of the Fruits of the Spirit, and talk about how they're more than just "good things" that we should do. It's more than just a list of virtues. Right?
As our church approaches a milestone birthday, we take a look once again at who we are.
I thought I read everything... until I read this!
Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time.
He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannont see the whole scope of God's work from beginning to end. Ecclesaistes 3.11
